Team Manager and Operations Assistant

TEAM MANAGER AND OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

The University of Illinois Men’s Lacrosse club is seeking a Team Manager and Operations Assistant to assist the coaches and team. Specific roles and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with hydration for the team during practices and contests.
  • Assist with practice and game film/video clipping and uploading.
  • Oversee statistics at games and ensure timely data upload to relevant and league required platforms.
  • Assist with equipment, gear, and apparel inventory. 
  • Manage uniforms and game day preparation and breakdown, including field setup and media team/live streaming coordination.
  • Assist with travel coordination, include transportation, accommodations, meals, etc.
  • Assist with coordinating accommodations for visiting teams.
  • Help Coaches monitor injuries and injury reporting.
  • Assist with coordinating camps and clinics, including community outreach programs.
  • Assist coaches with miscellaneous tasks.

Commitment

Spring: 1/25-3/30 2-3 practices per week, weekend games, travel to away games, and some overnight travel. 

Preferred Qualifications 

Strong interest in sports, preferably the sport of lacrosse. Sports management or related major preferred. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

This is a volunteer position providing experience in sports management. Internship with credit potential. Apparel package provided. Travel expenses provided.

Established in 1972, the University of Illinois Men’s Lacrosse club is a competitive club sport of the UIUC Campus Recreation Department. The team is a Division 1 member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) and the Upper Midwest Lacrosse Conference, including Big 10 schools Indiana University, University of Iowa, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, Purdue University, and University of Nebraska.
